Weathermatic is the undisputed leader in smart irrigation controllers and we’ve built our entire water management business based the Smartline SL1600. The installation is so simple that we also offer it with special pricing and support for “do-it-yourself” homeowners. If you are interested in using “smart” irrigation technologies to reduce your water bill by as much as 50% then Smartline is the right choice.
Saving water while maintaining a healthy landscape was the primary focus of the entire team at Weathermatic when they created SmartLine. Weathermatic was founded in 1945 and the SmartLine controller development began in the 90’s to culminate in the 1998 patent application (U.S. Patent No. 6,314,340). Since that time, SmartLine is now in its 11th revision and installed on more than 200,000 properties including Capitol Hill, Arlington National Cemetery and the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. SmartLine consistently demonstrates water savings from 20% to over 50% while runoff is virtually eliminated.
Precise Landscape Watering – SmartLine calculates evapotranspiration (ET) in real time based on actual on-site weather readings monitored 24 hours a day. It automatically adjusts the run time for each zone according to your plant type, soil type, sprinkler type, temperature, rainfall and dozens of other factors. Your SmartLine controller will apply pricicely the amount of water required by your landscape saving you hundreds or thousands of dollars each year.
On-Site Weather Monitoring – As weather can vary significantly from one community to the next, understanding the weather at your home is critical to applying a precise amount of water to your landscape. The SmartLine SLW Series On-Site Weather Stations are located on the property and communicate weather changes with SmartLine controller. This weather station also includes the rain and freeze sensors required by many communities.
Eliminate Run Off – Your soil may not be able to absorb all the water you currently apply so the remainder may be running off into the street or the neighbors property. Smartline automatically calculates run & soak cycles based on your slope and soil type to virtually eliminate run off.
Commercial-grade Construction – The solid lockable, indoor/outdoor weather-resistant controller and weather station have been tested in all extreme environments and proven to last for years.
Nonvolatile Memory – If you ever lose power for an extended period all the programming is stored in memory and will appear when power is restored.
Omit Times/Days/Dates – Automatically comply with local water restrictions; eliminate irrigated water lost to evaporation in the heat of the day; stop irrigation on lawn maintenance days; never water on the date of anannual event (ex: July 4th)
Backlit LCD – No flashlight required in dark basements and garages!
